Sarah gave birth to 8 children: 1) Mary, 2) Levina, 3) Sarah, 4) Charlotte (Lottie), 5) Peyton, 6) Allen, 7) Elizabeth, and 8) John.

Military: According to the Bledsoe-Kelly Collection, Aaron Vinson was Justice of Johnston County, N.C. from May 1777 until his death.  See also his DAR record which says that he served as "
JUSTICE OF THE COUNTY COURT OF JOHNSTON CO."

NOTE: A "justice of the county court" is a judge with limited jurisdiction.  North Carolina's first constitution in 1776 declared that the state legislature recommend the justice which was then appointed by the governor, Richard Caswell.


Education: unknown, but obviously could read and write.


Career: unknown, but probably a planter then served as a part-time judge from 1777 until his death in 1791.

- Aaron Vinson's family appears in Johnston County, North Carolina on the first U.S. Census (1790).

- Aaron bought property in Johnston County in an estate sale on 10 Aug. 1782.

- In Record of Estates, Johnston County, North Carolina edited and published by Elizabeth E. Ross, 1988, several records refer to the distribution of his property after his death in 1791.  Following the division of his mother Amelia's estate, Aaron's relationship with his heirs as follows:
"Div. of Est. of Aaron Vinson, dec. among legitimate heirs: Jesse, Polly, Levina, Sally, Charlotte, Payton, Allen, Betsy, & John Vinson."  See Cousin Caroline's page for images.
- DAR Record: Maud Kelly submitted Aaron Vinson as a supplimental ancestral line for her lifetime membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).  His Ancestor # is A118852. wherein he is listed as Aaron "Vincent."
