On page 8, The marriage license says: Georgia } } To any Judge, Justice of the Inferior Court, Justice Campbell County } of the peace, or Minister of the Gospel - You are hereby authorized to join William Finch and Lucinda Keneday in the Holy state of Matrimony according to the constitution and laws of this state and for so doing this shall be your sufficient Licence [sic], Given under my hand and seal 2d January 1832 James P.H. Campbell for C. Field C.C.O [County Clerk's Office?] This is followed by the record of marriage on page 9 as follows: Georgia Campbell County, I certify that Wm Finch and Lucinda Kenedy were duly joined in Matrimony by me this the 8th day of January 1832. Joseph Bradbury J.P. The record is found in Campbell County, Georgia's Marriage Book A, on pages 8 & 9. Campbell County was created Dec. 20, 1828 then enlarged after the expulsion of the Cherokee Indians (see "Trail of Tears") Re: the Cherokee Land Lottery of 1832. The county has since ceased to exist. Part was taken in 1870 to become Douglas County. The remainder went to Fulton County, Georgia in 1931. The courthouse still exists and is located in Fairborn, Fulton County. I am uncertain where Probate records are.
